DRAKESVILLE CITY COUNCIL MEETING March 4th, 2004 |
Answering Roll Call at the regular monthly meeting at 7:30 p.m. were Council Members, Sharon Sines, Jeff Sines, Dan Cassill, Craig Walker and Clerk, Mary Stocker. Mayor Pro-Tem Sharon Sines presided until Mayor Bob Closser arrived.
The minutes of the previous meeting were read by the Clerk and approved with a motion by Jeff Sines, seconded by Craig Walker and motion carried.
The Financial Report was presented by the Clerk, but totals were not agreeing due to a typo, so a motion to not accept it as presented was made by Jeff Sines, seconded by Craig Walker and motion carried.
The Park Board minutes were read by the Clerk and a motion to accept them was made by Craig Walker, seconded by Dan Cassill and motion carried.
Christian Church Bell - no response from the Stephenson's
City Code Books were updated by the Clerk with new pages from Area 15 and we got one additional one for City Hall.
Street Report: The Street name sign at the corner of Chestnut and Jefferson has been run over and bent by a truck. Dan to get pipe and repair. North Washington - The pothole left by Rathbun some 9 months ago is not repaired. All they do is put rock in it. Tube near Hazel Olive's residence needs cleaned and the alley beside the city hall at the east end is getting in bad shape again. Also the debris at the east end of the oval must be kept cleared off.
Was discussed for the Clerk to post bids for mowing for the April meeting.
Discussion of when to have the April meeting when majority could be present. It will be held on April 12th at 7:30 p.m.
At 8:00 p.m. the budget Hearing was held and the Clerk presented each of the council members with a copy of the budget. Explanation of any changes and questions were discussed by the Council. Being no citizen present to voice an opinion for or against the Budget, a motion was made by Sharon Sines, seconded by Jeff Sines to accept the Budget for the year 2004 - 2005 and to adopt by Resolution.

Resolution No. 82 is thereby adopted.
A building permit was presented by Bill Wilt for construction of a garage east of their present garage and then construct a home. A motion to approve the permit was made by Craig Walker, seconded by Sharon Sines and motion carried.
Clerk mentioned Clean-Up Day coming up Friday, May 7, 2004 and fliers will be handed out.
Also Mustang Pride Day April 21st for 1/2 day.
A motion to adjourn was made by Sharon Sines, seconded by Craig Walker and meeting adjourned at 8:25 p.m.
